Acne DIY Mask that every Acne Survivor Should Try

If you’re an Indian – you probably know this, & if you’re not, here’s something that you’re missing in your acne skin care regime, girl.

This mask has been my go to forever, especially around that time of the month when my hormones mess with my face. Those uninvited, painful monthly zits that appear out of nowhere and ruin my peace of mind. Thanks to this mask for helping me out big time calming my hormonal breakouts. It’s pretty easy to make, if you’re not familiar with the ingredients, don’t worry; just go to your nearest Wal-Mart, and you’ll find almost everything within the same isle. If you have super dry skin that leads to breakouts, this may not weave its magic like it does on super oily or combination skin, but it sure will not cause any damage either. Realistically, it takes a good amount of time and $$$$ to figure out what works best for your skin. In order to try all the golden products, you gotta spend that hard earned $$ and make a call. This is the most important reason why I believe in simple homemade masks with natural ingredients that are proven to work miraculously from ancient times.

This wallet friendly, super nourishing mask is something I can swear by  and not one time has it let me down

Add the ingredients mentioned below in a small mixing bowl and form a smooth paste before applying it on your face as a mask.

2 table spoons of gram flour
1 pinch of turmeric powder
Quarter tablespoon of nutmeg
1 tea spoon of fresh “garlic juice”
Milk (for people with super dry skin)

Here’s what these ingredients do to your skin:

Turmeric:The anti-inflammatory qualities can target your pores and calm the skin. Turmeric is also known to reduce scarring. This combination of uses may help your face clear up from acne breakouts.

Nutmeg:One of the major benefits of nutmeg is that it’s super anti-inflammatory and antibacterial, making it a great natural ingredient for treating acne”

Garlic: Garlic has antibacterial , anti fungal, antiviral, and antiseptic properties from allicin. Allicin helps to kill the bacteria causing acne. It also helps to reduce swelling and inflammation, and improve blood circulation. … These properties are believed to help reduce the inflammation of acne

Gram Flour: Gram flour has certain properties that treat acne and has been used for this purpose in India for centuries. For one, the zinc in gram flour has been shown to fight the infections that cause your face to erupt with acne. Secondly, it also helps control the excess sebum production and soothes inflamed skin.
